Hearing from Noelani Jones was really interesting, as weaving is an art form that I hadn't put much thought into beforehand. I was impressed by her descriptions of the floor loom and the physicality (use of both the hands and feet) required to work with it. I liked how her work directly reflected her life and experiences, and her ability to weave just about anything, including (most impressively) raspberry canes and rocks. Her work made me wonder what art I could make in my own style from nature. I too live on a farm, and she certainly made me want to hike around in the woods and see what I could create. While I don't see myself taking up weaving, I do think it would be fun to use a loom. I would consider trying to paint overtop of weaving, similarly to how she used spray paint, to make a piece combining the textures of weaving with the realism of paint.
