I've been very pleased with the reference I chose for this project, a drawing by Peter Paul Rubens after of one of Michelangelo's ignudos in the Sistine Chapel. The nude figure has allowed me to explore complex (and exaggerated) anatomy while practicing my technical drawing skills. I've quite enjoyed drawing with conté thus far in the project, though it was a struggle at first to correctly hone in on certain marks clearly without making them overly prominent or spaced.

Using a conté pencil rather than a small piece has helped me to refine the lines. I have found the proportion of the figure, while correct to the reference after careful gridding, to be somewhat deceiving; I've found the head in particular to look somewhat strange. However, just as I completed the feet, I know that it should look much more correct with more placement of details and value. To be cliché, I am learning more and more to trust the process- and myself- as I work.
